Happy Mother’s Day!

Sunday, May 8th, 2011

Mother’s Day is such a special day of the year. While we should all appreciate our mothers every day, Mother’s Day gives us an occasion to honor them and really express our thoughts to them. It’s a day to make them feel special, show how much we appreciate them, and let our hearts be full of love.

I want to take this moment to wish a very special Mother’s Day to my mom. She gave up so much to give my sister and me a good life, and my parents did everything they could to make sure we grew up with good values, a good education, and all of the chances that we might not have had in Vietnam. My mom taught me so many things in life, but mostly how to be a loving, generous person. I am thankful to have her in my life and want to say “I love you!” to her.

Do whatever you can to tell your mom what she means to you today. If you can’t be with her, call her or send a message. It’s all about expressing our love for our moms today!

To my friends who are mothers – some even experiencing their very first Mother’s Day – you are awesome women! You sacrifice and give 100% every single day to raising your children, and it’s the most unselfish thing a woman can do. I love and respect you all!

For those who are having a tough time today, because they’ve lost their mothers or have experienced something else in their lives that makes today a tough day, my thoughts are with you, too.

Enjoy this day with your mother, or treat yourself to something wonderful. Happy Mother’s Day!

Happy Mother’s Day!

I want to wish a Happy Mother’s Day to my Mom and all the other wonderful loving mothers out there. For those of you who have lost a mother, I hope you can take this day and remember. Almost every country in the world celebrates some form of mother’s day. I realize for those of you not in the U.S., it’s not mother’s day in your part of the world but this is a good day to celebrate your mother anyway. It’s always a good day to celebrate your mom!

In the U.K. they celebrate a form of mother’s day on March 22nd. They call it “mothering day”. This date changes every year in the U.K. and in the U.S., we celebrate the second Sunday of May. Unfortunately I am in London right now and I did not get to take my mother out to dinner and personally shower her with gifts but my heart is with her and I did arrange to have her gifts delivered to her doorstep early this morning. Happy Mother’s day, Mom!! I hope you liked your gifts. I love you!!

“Mother” is such a simple word,
But to me there’s meaning seldom heard.
For everything I am today,
My mother’s love showed me the way.

I’ll love my mother all my days,
For enriching my life in so many ways.
She set me straight and then set me free,

And that’s what the word “mother” means to me.
Thanks for being a wonderful mother, Mom!

I wasn’t always the easiest child to deal with growing up. I always had a rebellious and independent side. I’m pretty sure I drove my mom crazy at times but deep down I have always loved my mom and really value her as a part of my life. I consider family one of the most important aspects of anyone’s life. Family always comes first. I hope people take a step back on this day and really remember how important their family is to them.

“M” is for the million things she gave me,
“O” means only that she’s growing old,
“T” is for the tears she shed to save me,
“H” is for her heart of purest gold;
“E” is for her eyes, with love-light shining,
“R” means right, and right she’ll always be,
Put them all together, they spell “MOTHER,”
A word that means the world to me.

Mom, I hope you have the best day today. I cannot be with you physically but in spirit I am with you always. To all the other mothers and daughters, I hope you had a chance to share this special day. But more importantly, don’t forget every day is an important day to treat your mother well and to shower her with love.

Peace, Love, and Happiness! XOXO
